What is the cost of exchange?The initial cost of the exchange is approximately $AUD7,500 which covers return airfares, (there can be an additional fuel levy, for 2009 the average cost is $AUD700) insurance, briefing weekends (before and after exchange) etc. In total, over an 18 month period of time, including the 12 months overseas, the exchange can cost up to $AUD20,000. Parents intending to visit their children while on exchange must liaise with their Country Person to determine when is the best time for this visit and to ensure agreement is obtained from the hosting country.
